The plan

  • Pickup time: 6 am from Zostel Rishikesh (Tapovan).
  • Your Valley of Flowers Trek starts with the golden morning rays dancing on the Ganga as you leave behind Rishikesh’s chaos and roll into the calm of the Garhwal Himalayas.
  • The drive itself is a warm-up for the soul — think gushing rivers, hanging bridges, pine forests, and hill hamlets perched like birds’ nests.
  • You’ll pass Devprayag, where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers embrace to form the mighty Ganges.
  • Reach Joshimath/Govindghat by late afternoon — a peaceful mountain town where every corner whispers tales of pilgrims and explorers.
  • Settle into your cosy hotel or guesthouse. Meet your fellow trekkers over tea, share stories, and feel the excitement build.

Joshimath at a glance:

Joshimath is a peaceful mountain town and a gateway to many Himalayan adventures. Expect chilly breezes, cosy cafes, and colourful flags fluttering against snow-capped peaks. A mix of spirituality and trekking culture defines the vibe here.

I recently had the pleasure of going on a trip with ZO Trips and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I booked the trip, everything was taken care of seamlessly. Special shoutout to our guide, Steve, who was absolutely fantastic! The journey can’t be the way it was without Steve .His knowledge, enthusiasm, and attention to detail made our journey so much more enjoyable that can’t be expressed in words. Never had a guide like him who went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. And to our driver, Apubhai, a huge thank you! Not only did he get us safely to our destinations, but he also made the journey a blast with his killer humour and fun vibes! 🤣 Little jokes, big laughs, and safe rides – what more could you ask for?The trip was perfectly planned, and the accommodations were great. The scenic spots we visited were breathtaking. Thank you, ZO Trips, for an amazing experience! Can't wait to travel with you again. Steve and Appu , you've made a loyal customer for life! 🌟"

Had an amazing trip! Our trip captain, Devesh, was fantastic and kept everything so organized. The itinerary was perfectly designed and we even had time to add extra stops! Just a small note for improvement: the food at Sissu could use a little upgrade.

This was an unforgettable trip which was very well organised. Amazing memories with amazing people. Yuvraj as a co-ordinator was the best person I have met this year. There was never a moment during the trip where I had to think about what to do. He was ready with everything. A great person with amazing conversation skills. Sweet and amazing human being. In future if there is a trip which has him as our co-ordinator I am ready to join without any thought for the location. He ensured that everyone had a great time and made everyone feel very comfortable.
